Maddox woke up in a great mood and immediately wanted to play. We hung out in the room for a while and then had a late breakfast in the hotel.
Maddox LOVES cheerios! He especially loves it when we put a handful on the high chair so he can eat one, drop one, eat two, drop two...I should have taken a picture of the floor when we left breakfast.
He is very sweet, but OH let me tell ya! He has a temper, lol! As most almost 2 year olds do! He does not like the word "no", either.
The survival instinct is pretty strong in him; you can tell he had to defend himself and that he knows how to.
Anyway, we stayed in the hotel until about 2:00, then we ventured out to the "park". It was nice, but very crowded. Of course we were stared at relentlessly. We got some interesting video of the older people dancing. It was explained to us that that is what the "old people do to pass the time since they have a lot of time on their hands." lol!
We then visited a former military boarding school...It's over a hundred years old and is now closed and just used for touring.
After that we walked for what seemed like forever to a Chinese restaurant that wasn't opened yet :/ .
The guide asked if we wanted to go to the hotel and wait or continue on to find another restaurant; Scotty and I both wanted to go to the hotel to wait...For some reason, that translated as, "let's walk further away from the hotel to another restaurant." *sigh* Our guide is SO sweet; a really nice guy, but there's definitely a communication barrier. He struggles to understand us, and it makes the day difficult.
We decided to go back to the hotel and just eat there...regardless of the cost...Basically because we're tired of walking and Maddox was too.
We stayed in for the rest of the evening and it was wonderful!
We have decided to keep the rest of the sight seeing to a minimum while we are here. It's just too difficult, and communication is limited. I think the schedule for the first 3 days just beat us to a pulp and, in our opinion, bonding with Maddox is more important right now than sight seeing.
